What are “the rules”:

  • Respect

    • Enter, and leave quietly

    • Don’t talk when Mrs. Noble is talking

  • Don’t be dumb

  • Golden Rule: If you make a mess, clean it up.

  • Push in Chair (last hour flips stool onto table)

Every art area has different requirements based on the media involved, but every area requires students to help with cleanup is part of your grade.

When is the art room open?

When Mrs. Noble is there. If students need to work before school, or after school arrange a time with teacher prior.

Unsupervised use of art classrooms is not permitted.

What if I need a Pass?

No student is ever allowed to leave the classroom without permission and must always ask the teacher in charge before signing out. You are asked to return in a timely manner as no more than 2 students should ever be out of the room at a time. Please take care of locker/restroom/drinks/ external socializing BEFORE you come to class I expect you to stay in class for the entire duration if you need to leave to use the restroom you will sign out on the clipboard with the time you leave and the time you sign back in when you return.

What am I graded on?

Grades overall in the class are based on:

2. Technical and creative progress-

-be better than you used to be each day

-keep moving forward

-take chances, make mistakes, learn from them

3. Work Ethic and Craftsmanship-

-Use work time for assignment,

-take your time, do good work

4. Completion of research assignments AND clear presentation of findings-

-finish what you start, learning is often a team effort, hold up your end

5. Completion of drawing projects and critiques-

Do not hand in incomplete work. It will be returned to you until complete

  • Many projects need to be self-assessed before they are turned in.

  • Make sure you;

    • Follow the Objectives of each assignment

    • Can answer the Essential Questions)

    • Each Day Work is late/missing will result in a letter grade drop for the project. (10pts per school day)

6. Quizzes and tests- occasionally we need to put a number to what you know.

7.  Maintenance and Clean- up of studio space.

    - if you make a mess CLEAN IT UP!

Be on time, work hard, and complete the assignments on time. Each day makes a difference.

  • You are responsible for ALL DEADLINES and DUE DATES.

Writing them down in more than one place, (ie. on the paper itself and in planner) is a great idea

What happens if I’m Gone?:

  • It is up to you to find out what assignments and/or tests were missed during an absence.

  • Each EXCUSED absent day results in an extension of one school day from the due date

  • With prior coordination I am available before and after school for assistance or help going above and beyond. Students have MANY opportunities to meet the course standards & objectives.

3.  Students have 1 week to complete the project at home (unless more time is warranted due to an extended absence).

4.  Students must return any checked-out supplies with the completed project before receiving a grade for that project.

Students are expected to maintain a mature and respectful attitude at all times.

-“Be Kind or Be Quiet”

DO not        throw         anything    ever. It’s distracting, disrespectful, and messy.

Success is an option.  Growth is an option.

Laziness  is NOT an option.  If you fail to try, you're trying to fail!
